A U.S. company has developed a control system that operates the wipers while wet. A new generation of automatic controls for intermittent windscreen wipers is also a device that combines the economics of light guide sensors with the accuracy of a microprocessor that senses changes from fog to snow humidity. It consists of an infrared detector mounted behind the rearview mirror and a microprocessor control module incorporating the wiper electronics.
