Paroxysmal motor-derived choreoattenosis (PKCA) is a rare non-progressive involuntary movement disorder. Seizures often appear as spasmodic, abnormal muscle tone or dance like hand, foot and foot motility, and often induced by sudden movement or startle. The age of onset is more common in childhood. This article reports 4 cases of PKCA, 2 cases had a family history and the other 2 cases distributed, 4 cases were caused by sudden movement such as standing up, running and so on. Intermittent neurological examination episodes, laboratory tests, EEG at different periods (including induced test) and brain CT scan were found no abnormalities. After phenytoin treatment, 2 cases were completely controlled and the other 2 cases were ineffective.
