The use of somaclonalvariation (SV) to cultivate new varieties of crops has been reported at home and abroad. In rice have been dreams (Japan), Dama (Hungary), black Jane rice and other conventional varieties. The author started SV breeding in the mid-1980s. For the first time in the world, this technique was used to breed wheat kernel 8 in the early 1990s.
