近期,IBM公司在北京介绍了基于IntelXeon处理器的芯片组技术eServerX3架构,以及基于该架构的4路服务器eServerx366。当业界其他厂商采用Intel的芯片组技术时,惟独IBM历时3年、投资1亿美元研发了自己独有的eServerX3架构。
Recently, IBM introduced the eServerX3 chipset architecture based on IntelXeon processor in Beijing and the eServerx366 4-socket server based on this architecture. When other vendors in the industry used Intel’s chipset technology, IBM spent only three years investing $ 100 million in developing its own proprietary eServerX3 architecture.
