【编者按】本刊今年第3期刊发了长篇通讯《为了每一个孩子的幸福成长———山东省寿光市教育均衡发展透视》之后,引起广泛关注。教育部副部长王湛作了重要批示:“《人民教育》2002年第3期刊登《为了每一个孩子的幸福成长———山东省寿光市教育均衡发展透视》的报道并配发评论员文章《寿光的发展观》,读后颇受鼓舞。均衡发展是基础教育的本质要求,也是社会主义教育事业的本质要求。希望有更多的地区能像寿光市这样坚持基础教育的均衡发展;希望《人民教育》和其他教育报刊能报道更多的促进和实现教育均衡发展的典型。”对寿光的经验给予肯定。为了深入研究寿光市教育均衡发展的经验,深化对基础教育新的发展观———教育均衡发展的认识,进一步探讨我国基础教育改革与发展之路,根据王湛副部长重要批示精神,《人民教育》编辑部和山东省教育厅3月10日在北京联合召开了“促进基础教育均衡发展”座谈会。李连宁、顾明远、张力、谈松华、韩清林、文、杨东平等应邀与会,就本刊第3期发表的长篇通讯和基础教育均衡发展问题,纵论基础教育新的发展观。现将领导和专家的发言发表,以飨读者。座谈会由本刊总编辑傅国亮和山东省教育厅副厅长陈光华共同主持。徐家智、李希贵、张焕然、张文南和李振村等参加了座谈会。
