同志们: 中央召开这次全国党校工作会议,主要是部署贯彻中央刚刚作出的面向21世纪加强和改进党校工作的决定。锦涛同志已就如何进一步做好党校工作讲了话,所讲的意见我都赞成。刚才几位同志的发言,讲得都很好。我们党历来对党校工作十分重视。各级党校承担着一个重要任务,就是要为党培养造就一大批优秀中青年干部而努力。今天,我就想谈谈关于加紧培养适应新世纪要求的中青年领导干部问题。
Comrades: The Central Government held this working conference for party schools throughout the country, mainly because of the decision it has just made to implement and to strengthen and improve the work of party schools in the 21st century. Comrade Jin Tao has spoken on how to further improve the work of the party school. I agree with what I have said. Just now a few comrades spoke very well. Our party has always attached great importance to the work of party schools. Party schools at all levels bear an important task in carrying out the task of cultivating a large number of outstanding young and middle-aged cadres for the party. Today, I would like to talk about the issue of stepping up training of middle-aged and young leading cadres who meet the requirements of the new century.
