The enclosure movement in the United Kingdom continued from the Tudor to the Victorian era for more than four hundred years, of which the Tudor enclosure was an important starting point for the whole enclosure movement. As Thomas More’s Sheep Eating Man highlights the violent aspects of the Tudor enclave, making people’s understanding of the Tudor enclave more generally and negatively appraising them. It should be admitted that any economic change can not avoid the existence of violence. However, the violence of the Tudor enclave is not unconstrained, and the enclave of violence is not only restricted by social morality and government decrees, but also the land rights of peasants are protected by law. Therefore, the limited scale of violence in the Tudor enclosure does not come at the expense of farmers alone.
