自2007年6月23日联想在北京正式启动奥运火炬手、护跑手全国公开选拔活动以来,一月时间内,通过联想官方网站、联想奥运火炬百城巡展等各种途径报名参与选拔的民众数量已经超过5万。火炬巡展等落地式的报名现场出现人头攒动的火热场面。另一方面,联想已公布十数位社会各阶层具有探索超越精神的典型人物为提名火炬手。联想“寻找具有不断探索、超越的奥林匹克精神,为创建和谐家园做出贡献的人”的选拔理念在社会各层面引起广泛共鸣。
