受新文化新思想的影响,《小说月报》的读者开始摆脱单纯的被动接受角色,转向主动参与文学期刊内容的构建,创造他们期待中的文学。因此革新后《小说月报》在内容设置上深受读者参与的影响,读者的需求不仅决定着《小说月报》内容的选择,同样也决定着期刊内容的传播与发生的影响,对《小说月报》的栏目设置以及内容安排产生了不小的影响。读者主动参与到文学期刊的建构之中,以他们的期待视野促使着期刊编辑对期刊内容做出相应的调整和变化。
Influenced by the new cultural thoughts, readers of Novel Monthly began to get rid of purely passive acceptance roles and turned actively into the construction of the content of literary journals to create the literature they expected. Therefore, after the reform, “Novel Monthly” is deeply influenced by readers’ participation in the content setting. The readers’requirements not only determine the content of “Novel Monthly”, but also influence the dissemination and occurrence of journal contents. Monthly report "section set up and content arrangements have had a significant impact. Readers actively participate in the construction of literary periodicals, with their expectations horizons to promote the journal editors to make the appropriate adjustments and changes in the contents of the journal.
