配平氧化还原方程式有多种方法,氧化数法(电子转移法),双方互定系数法(交叉配平法),矩阵法(待定系数法),离子——电子法。其中,矩阵法对配平复杂的氧化还原反应方程式较为得力,对一般方程式的配平则显得比较麻烦。氧化数法是最基本的方法,它适用范围广,可以不限于水溶液,在非水和高温下的情况都可使用。双方互定系数法,以氧化数法为基础,依据氧化剂和还原剂双方氧化数的变化来互定对方的系数,它是氧化数法的发展,比较简便。此两方法的配平关键步骤都是求氧化
