The “Well Logging New Technology and Reservoir Acoustics Symposium” hosted by China Acoustics Society and Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences was held in Beijing from September 14 to September 17, 2011. From the CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC and other enterprises, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Institute of Electrical and Acoustics, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation twenty-second Institute, China University of Petroleum, Northeast Petroleum University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Jilin University, Shandong University of Science and Technology, Applied Geophysics Editorial Department more than 30 units 140 delegates attended the meeting. In line with the purpose of “sharing, discussion, cooperation and progress”, the conference specially invited 8 experts at home and abroad to bring forward new theories and technologies related to the frontier in this research field
