在调修精密天平时,若要更换中刀,除应选择刀的精度和刀底宽外,必须十分注意新刀与原刀的高度相等,而这一点容易被忽视。例如,在更换新刀时(见图1),若新中刀b的高度h_2高于旧刀a的高度h_1,则会使天平的三刀刃联线(图2中c)下移,从而增大了该联线以上的质量,减少了联线以下的质量,实际上,使天平的重心升高。此种状态下,在调修中大幅度地降低了重心砣,也使其灵敏度降低不多。
