In order to understand the effect of the crystal field on the CeSb properties, the CeSb_1-xTex solid solution was studied. The crystal field in the study was about 18K from 35K for CeSb to about CeTe. The desired amount of product was directly reacted in a sealed molybdenum crucible, heated at 2000 ° C and slowly cooled to obtain a CeSb_1-xTex single crystal.
