现代性无疑是20世纪山水画发展的主要命题。山水画的这种现代性,一方面是从文人出世心境的抒写转向拥抱现实的人文关怀,另一方面则是从山水自然形态的表现转向具有现代视觉文化特征的审美经验的再造。而引发山水画这种现代性蜕变的,无疑是整个中国进入现代性社会的一种精神文化需求以及欧美现代文化给予中国文化的辐射与参照。显然,这种现代性并不仅仅是对欧美现代主义艺术的模仿,更为艰难的是,如何在这种文化参照中寻求与中国传统文化构成的某种内在联系。山水画的现代性并不在于能够呈现多么简约明快的现代视觉经验,更重要的是这种简化形
Modernity is undoubtedly the main proposition of the development of landscape painting in the 20th century. The modernity of landscape painting, on the one hand, has shifted from describing the mood of the literati’s birth to embracing the humanistic concern of reality. On the other hand, the modern landscape has turned to the reconstruction of the aesthetic experience with the characteristics of modern visual culture. The transformation of modernity that caused the landscape painting is undoubtedly a kind of spiritual and cultural needs of the entire Chinese into a modern society and the radiation and reference given to Chinese culture by the modern European and American cultures. Obviously, this kind of modernity is not merely an imitation of the modernist art in Europe and the United States. What is more difficult is how to seek some intrinsic connection with Chinese traditional culture in this cultural reference. The modernity of landscape painting does not lie in how simple and vivid modern visual experience can be presented. More importantly, this simplified form
