随着中国对外经贸关系的发展,中国金融机构逐步向海外扩展。80年代之前,中国仅有中国银行和中国人民保险公司两家金融机构在海外设有分支机构。80年代之后,随着改革开放的不断深入,为适应金融国际化的大趋势,满足日益增多的国际经贸往来的需求,国家有计划、有步骤地批准了一些金融机构到国外设立分支机构。截止1996年底,中国海外金融机构的数量共有596个,其中,属于银行机构557个,保险的39个,营业性机构567个,代表机构29个,80%以上分布在香港和澳门地区,其它分布在17个
With the development of China’s foreign trade and economic relations, China’s financial institutions have gradually expanded overseas. Before the 1980s, only two financial institutions, namely Bank of China and People’s Insurance Company of China, had branches overseas. After the 1980s, with the continuous deepening of reform and opening up, in order to meet the megatrends of internationalization of finance and satisfy the increasing demand for international economic and trade exchanges, the state has approved in a planned and systematic manner some financial institutions to set up branches abroad.
