Objective: To study the effects of chronic low-dose exposure to organophosphorus pesticides on male reproductive function. Methods: 161 men were enrolled in organophosphorus pesticide exposure group and 161 non-exposed group. Epidemiological questionnaires, external genital examination and semen samples were collected and measured. Results: Long-term exposure to small doses of organophosphorus resulted in a significant decrease in sperm density, with a sperm density of 76.0 ± 84.8 × 106 / ml in the exposed group and 100.0 ± 56.4 × 106 / ml in the non-exposed group (P = 0 · 0059). Logistic regression analysis of pesticide and sperm quality found that the quality of sperm in the exposed group decreased significantly, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant; the libido of the exposed group decreased, the number of sexual intercourse decreased. Conclusion: This study found that farmers due to improper protection, long-term low-dose exposure to organophosphate pesticide can lead to decreased reproductive performance, we must strengthen the prevention and treatment of rural pesticide poisoning, to prevent chronic poisoning, protect the health of farmers and promote agricultural development.
