国家建材局建筑材料科学研究院,是以应用和开发研究为主的建材行业综合性研究机构。主要从事水泥、玻璃、陶瓷、耐火材料等专业的新产品、新技术、新工艺、新设备及应用理论等方面的研究工作。全院共有8个研究所,职工2千多人,工程技术人员910余人。其中,41～45岁的科技干部占55%;31～40岁的占13%;30岁以下的占30%左右。
