盛氏《皇朝经世文续编》的主要纂辑者并不是盛康、盛宣怀父子 ,而是缪荃孙 ;负责删定、增补与校勘者则是汪洵。“盛编”的纂辑、刻成时间也不同于一般所说 ,盛氏父子在序言中将基本成书时间说成经始时间 ,这样就掩盖了缪氏纂辑之功。从内容看 ,“盛编”纂辑时曾参考过其他几种《续编》。与略早刊行的葛士浚《皇朝经世文续编》相比 ,“盛编”编辑思想稍稍落后 ,不如“葛编”更能反映时势变化 ,但它校勘严谨过于“葛编”,保存了许多史料 ,因而同样具有重要研究价值
The main editors of Sheng’s “Dynasty Scriptures” are not Shengkang and Sheng Xuanhuai, but Miao Quansun; those in charge of deleting, supplementing and collating are Wang Zan. The compilation and editing of “Sheng Bian” is different from the general one in that it is written in the preface that Sheng’s father and son described the basic composing time as the beginning of time, thus masking the power of Miao’s compiling and editing. Seen from the content, “Sheng Bian” compilation has referred to several other “sequel.” Compared with the earlier issue of Ge Shih-chun’s dynastic revisiting of the essay series, editors of Sheng compiled a little behind, not as good as Ge’s edition to better reflect the changes of the times. However, Historical data, therefore, also has important research value
