俗话说“宁隔千山,勿隔一水。”山隔十里可走,水隔一步难行。滔滔河水在滋养勤劳的滨河群众的同时,也给他们带来了无奈和困扰。面对滨河群众改渡建桥的企盼,2004年6月,国家交通部启动了“撤渡建桥”的试点工作,并将江西省列为3个试点省份之一。省委、省政府审时度势,牢牢抓住这一千载难逢的有利机遇,把渡口改渡建桥作为民生工程的重要内容统一部署,精心谋划,强力推进,拉开了全省渡改桥工程建设的序幕。
