茉莉花是一种喜暖畏寒的多年生常绿灌木。它在10℃以下,进入休眠状态;-3℃以下,枝条大部分枯死;-6℃以下,地上部分全部枯死;-10℃以下,不论是地栽还是盆栽,都会连根冻死。我省有霜期长达65—145天,要使茉莉花在湖北安家,首先要解决好它的越冬护理问题。我们根据土壤温度来源于太阳辐射、地球内部热量和有机质分解释放出能量的原理,根据土壤温度的日较差和年较差与土壤深度成反比这一原则,于1973年开始试验地沟盖膜护理,经过几年的摸索,已基本上解决了茉莉花的越冬护理技术问题,取得了较好的效果。现将具体作法介绍如下。
