所谓界外球,是指在门球比赛过程中暂时处于竞赛线以外的球。界外球产生的原因是多方面的,是门球竞技中不可避免的现象。界外球的性质:一、界外球的双重性。界外球既有不利的一面,又有可以利用的一面;既有消极的一面,又有发挥积极作用的一面。关于界外球不利和消极的一面,不再赘述。下面只谈谈界外球可利用的和积极的一面。为什么说界外球会有以上特性呢?这是因为界外球还有暂时性、隐蔽性和突然性。
