Xinhua News Agency, Washington, April 4 (Xinhua) The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently proposed that measures be taken to reduce the content of inorganic arsenic in infant rice products marketed. Rice noodles are often referred to as the baby’s first food supplement and may be a source of arsenic that babies may ingest. The United States State Administration of Drug Administration said in a statement that according to the unit of weight, the amount of rice consumed by infants in the United States is three times more than that of adults. National diet statistics also show that, according to the weight unit, the United States most people eat rice age, about eight months after birth. In order to reduce the potential health risks of infants with inorganic arsenic contained in rice flour, the agency proposed that residual inorganic arsenic in rice noodles should be limited to 100 micrograms per kilogram
