1史沫特莱1892年出生于美国。1928年进入中国,宣传中国红色革命和中国共产党。1936年西安事变后,她开始每晚进行英语广播概述和报道与这场事变有关的内容。1937年1月,史沫特莱正式接到共产党的邀请访问延安。她与毛泽东、朱德、周恩来和彭德怀等人进行了多次交谈。她给予毛泽东高度评价。她还征得朱德的同意撰写了朱德传记《伟大的道路——朱德生平和时代》。同年,她成为八路军中第一个随军外国记者。
1 Smedley was born in the United States in 1892. Enter China in 1928 to promote the Chinese Red Revolution and the Chinese Communist Party. After the 1936 Xi’an Incident, she began an English-language evening broadcast that outlined and reported on the incident. In January 1937, Smedley officially visited Yan’an at the invitation of the Communist Party. She had many conversations with Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai and Peng Dehuai. She spoke highly of Mao Zedong. She also obtained Zhu De’s consent to write Zhu De’s biography “The Great Path - Life and Times of Zhu De.” In the same year, she became the first foreign correspondent with the army in the Eighth Route Army.
