彭元栋主任特地陪我登上高19层的火炬大厦,指点济南高新技术产业开发区这片热土。不远处,是绿树掩映下的山东大学。区内还有山东工业大学、山东医科大学等共14所高等院校和44所中央及省属科研究机构,拥有高级专业技术人员达万名,占全市同类人员的75％。俯瞰火炬大厦周围,有条条笔直宽阔的大道,有鳞次栉比的厂房;成片的高楼拔地而起,完善的服务设施渐次完成——这是三年多来开发区的建设者辟出的一片崭新的土地。
