Paper-cut art is a major form of folk art created, circulated, and developed in life by Chinese working people in all ages in order to meet the needs of material and spiritual life. It is an important carrier and realization of folk culture, maintaining the most primitive cultural foundation of folk art. This “people-oriented” profound national culture highlights the distinctive national character in the multi-cultural coexistence of the world and fully demonstrates the cultural origins of the Chongwen Shanghua learning of the Chinese nation.
