1989年8月15日上午9时(北京时间)中国上海,即3月14日下午8∶00(当地时间),美国德克萨斯州圣安东尼,同时在两地举行了首届中、美口腔医学电话学术交流会。这次电话学术交流会是由中国上海第二医科大学口腔医学院和美国德克萨斯州大学牙医学院联合举办的。中方参加的有上海第二医科大学校长王一飞教授、口腔医学院院长邱蔚六教授、口腔医学研究所所长黄宗仁教授等在泸的有关口腔医学界人士80余名。美方参加的有德克萨斯州大学校长Johnkowe、牙医学院
