Since the early 1970s, the introduction of foreign private capital in Malaysia’s foreign economic relations system is of great significance. The creation of a healthy domestic investment climate, the presence of cheap labor markets, investment markets and more developed infrastructures and Malaysia’s favorable geographical location at the intersection of the Pacific and the Indian Ocean trade routes have all contributed to the inflow of foreign capital. The Malaysian government’s policy aims to attract foreign investment in the Federation. Foreign business owners were granted the right of non-expropriation and nationalization, and enjoyed the right to freely remit profits and recycle capital (Malaysia had signed with eight countries in early 1980)
