The development history of polyacid photochemistry was reviewed. The principle of polyacid photochemistry and corresponding theoretical models were elucidated. The applications of various compounds as photocatalysts in organic reactions, environmental chemistry and water decomposition were summarized. Finally, The frontier research related to polyacid photochemistry.
