翻译是跨文化的行为,其目的和特点是语言文化的交流。成功的翻译需要克服语言和文化的双重障碍,而就文化障碍而言,莫过于独特的民族性。“龙”被视为中华民族的象征,其在中国特有的形象和内涵是在西方文化中无法找不到的。因而,在汉译英的实践中,“龙”的翻译无疑是一个难题。本文主要从跨文化翻译的角度来分析“龙”的几种译法。
Translation is a cross-cultural behavior, its purpose and characteristics of the exchange of language and culture. Successful translation needs to overcome the dual barriers of language and culture, while cultural barriers are more than unique nationalities. “Dragon” is regarded as a symbol of the Chinese nation. Its unique image and connotation in China can not be found in Western culture. Therefore, in the practice of translating English into Chinese, translation of “dragon” is undoubtedly a difficult problem. This article mainly analyzes several translations of “dragon” from the perspective of intercultural translation.
