The most commonly used volumetric method for the determination of uranium is the reduction of the hexavalent uranium solution to tetravalent uranium by a Jones reducer, followed by titration with oxidant. However, in the routine analysis, we hope to use the direct addition of reducing agent to make the procedure simple. Kern used stannous chloride as a reductant to boil in acid solution for a long time and could not get a quantitative reduction of uranium.
