简述了稀土掺杂光纤的特性,以及三能级光纤激光放大的基本原理。介绍了处于光通信第三窗口1.55μm的铒光纤放大器和目前实用波段1.3μm光纤放大器,以及光纤放大器在光弧子通信中的补偿作用。最后,在光纤放大器的基础上讨论产生超短脉冲和红外辐射的几种新型光纤激光器。
The characteristics of rare earth-doped fibers and the basic principle of three-level fiber laser amplification are briefly described. The compensation of 1.55μm erbium fiber amplifier in the third window of optical communication and 1.3μm optical fiber amplifier in the practical band and the compensation function of optical fiber amplifier in the optical arc communication are introduced. Finally, several new types of fiber lasers that generate ultrashort pulses and infrared radiation are discussed on the basis of fiber amplifiers.
