Among 50 states in the United States, California occupies the third largest area with the largest population. It has a mild climate, rich natural resources, thriving business and industry, and has huge financial institutions, national defense industry, military bases, several prestigious universities and several world-renowned tourist sites. If California becomes an independent nation, its overall strength will be among the top 10 in the world. Call it the Golden State, is indeed well-deserved. However, in addition to the man-made riots that have taken place in California, there are all kinds of natural disasters such as locusts, fruit flies, earthquakes, windstorms, droughts, floods and fires. California is spared no fire from year to year, especially after summer and autumn, and it’s like a pandemic. It’s like a plague. It happens at one place. It happens at one place or another at once. Fight, immediately followed by another one. The largest three fires in California in recent decades occurred in 1970, 1993 and October last year respectively. This year, the fire seems to have come ahead of schedule. There have been several occurrences in April and May. On the eve of the National Day of the United States (July 4), another occurred in the Antelope Valley in the northern suburb of Los Angeles. Fortunately, both not very big.
