(Ii) Operation of the Federal Statistical Agency Advisory Committee The following is a detailed description of each of the advisory committees operating under the FACA, and their alternate committees, which are not run under public law. 1. Census Bureau Census Bureau has worked with nine advisory committees. Four of them are closely linked with professional groups, one mainly engaged in agricultural statistics and the other four engaged in the census of ethnic minorities related to the 1990 census. The four professional associations include the members designated by the American Statistical Association (ASA), the American Economic Association (AEA), the American Market Association (AMA) and the American Population Association (PAA), respectively, who advise the director directly.
