Project Name: Expo 2015 Future Food Zone Project Location: Milan, Italy Project commissioned by: Milan Expo Organizing Committee Design Team: Carlo Ratti Associati Moderator: Carlo Ratti Completion: 2015 Future Food Zone is located at the center of Milan Expo, Covering an area of approximately 70,000 square feet, it is a high-tech exhibition hall jointly operated by the Italian firm Carlo Ratti Associati and the supermarket chain COOP. As one of the five theme areas at this Expo, the future design of the food area will be centered around “nourishing the earth and life and energy”. Here, visitors will appreciate how technology can change our diet, help us to establish new consumption and living habits, and even completely subvert the patterns of interdependence between people.
