利川市位于我省最西端,南邻潇湘,西靠蜀渝,北依三峡,清江自西向东横贯境内。这里气候独特,资源丰富,名胜众多。拥有亚洲最大的溶洞--腾龙洞,国家级重点文物保护单位--大水井古建筑群等等,欢快、活泼的优秀民歌《龙船调》即诞生于此……改革开放以来,利川人民解放思想,开拓进取,经济社会得到了较快发展。近年来,利川人民紧紧抓住西部大开发的历史机遇,打优势牌,唱特色戏:奋力谱写着以经济繁荣、社会进步、民族团结、山川秀美的内容的新“龙船调”。
