Objective To determine the demographic characteristics of medical litigation in the United States against radiologists on a gender and geographical basis and record the different proportions of favorable rulings and the amounts awarded to plaintiffs in each state. Materials and Methods This study meets HIPAA requirements and is approved by the Institutional Review Board. All radiologists joining One-Call Medical, a best candidate organization, go through the process of qualification first and foremost, recording the place of residence, age, gender, and medical incident. The National Professional Data Bank provides each radiologist with unfavorable rulings and a record of damages, with other lawsuits being provided by you. The zero-inflation negative binomial regression model that allows for different years of risk is used to calculate the rate of medical malpractice per state. Based on the sex, Poisson regression was used to calculate the incidence ratio of any compensation due to a medical incident and compared with the average of 36 states. The general linear model is hypothesized for the gamma-family distribution to determine age, gender, and the association of states with compensation amounts. Results In August 2010, 8401 radiologists in 47 states formed One-Call Medical. In their career, 30.9% (2600/8401) were accused at least once. Median damages range from $ 24,105 in Colorado to $ 350,000 in Maine compared to more than 14 times the average, from $ 74,373 in Nebraska to $ 715,707 in Oregon, compared to nine times. Radiographers in Alabama had the lowest rates of medical malpractice per 100 practice years in terms of age and area, with men at 0.95 (95% CI: 0.73-1.28) and women at 0.70 (95% CI: 0.52-0.96); and The highest rates of medical malpractice were in New York City at 5.65 for men (95% CI 5.09 to 6.26) and 4.13 for women (95% CI 3.54 to 4.80). Overall, male physicians were more likely to be litigated than female physicians (IRR = 1.37; 95% CI: 1.20-1.56) .Conclusion The probability of a radiologist being litigated at least once before the age of 60 is 50%, and the frequency and average number of litigants differ greatly by sex and region in different regions. The proportion of claims in different regions, the median and the average of compensation, vary widely among men who have been adjudged to be accused, and men are more likely to be prosecuted than women physicians in their working lives.
