Striking correlation has been noticed between empirical relation of geological time boun-daries and the intersection of the Earth with Galaxy spiral arms on the basis of availablegeochronological data and modern density-wave theory of galactic strueture. In the 1ight ofthis correlation the periodic variations in angular velocity of Earth ’s rotation during geolog-ical history and in geological processes are discussed and a theoretical geologieal time scaleis established. The theoretical geological time scale proposed consists of three parts: (i) Phanerozoictheoretical geologieal time scale, which is comparable with the empirical geological time scalecurrently used, (ii) Proterozoic theoretical geological time scale reflecting the main features ofmost of the previous scales suggested by different authors, and (iii) Archaean theoreticalgeological time scale which includes most of the key time boundaries known at present.
