华裔作家谭恩美《喜福会》的成功在很大程度上取决于书中传递的中国传统文化,如风水、五行等,这些中国元素也是西方读者关注的“充满神话性的原始色彩元素”。那么,书中描述的中国文化究竟是不是原汁原味的中国传统文化呢?本文将通过文本分析,结合中国经典古籍,探求这些传统文化的最初本源,指出中国传统文化在《喜福会》中的变异,然后从历史主义研究、接受理论、文化研究等多个视角出发,寻找出文化变异的根由。
