叶昌炽是我国清末著名的金石学家、版本目录学家、藏书家和书法家。他的《藏书纪事诗》煌煌七卷,是以纪事诗体为我国古代藏书家立传的开山之作。叶昌炽与蒋凤藻、潘祖荫、瞿镛、缪荃孙等都有交往,往来信札(多谈金石、藏书、刻书等)也不少,且多已见诸书刊。我馆藏有一通叶昌炽致其蒙师刘永诗的手札,未曾发表过。写此信时,叶昌炽居北京,在朝中任职,目睹了八国联军入侵中国,义和团运动兴起这一中国近代史上的重大事件。信中较详细地记录了当时的一些真实情况,为研究这段历史、研究叶昌炽提供了第一手资料。
Ye Changchi is a famous sci-fi scientist in China in the late Qing Dynasty. His essayist, bibliophile and calligrapher are editions. His “Book of Chronicle Poems” Huanghuang seven volumes, is based on the chronicle poetry for our ancient bibliography established mountains. Ye Changchi and Jiang Fung algae, Pan Zuyin, Qu Xun, Miao Quan Sun and other exchanges, correspondence letter (more about stone, books, engraving, etc.) are also many, and more have seen all kinds of books and periodicals. My library has a handwritten leaflet Chang Chih-chih letter to Liu Yong poetry, has not been published. At the time of writing, Ye Changchi lived in Beijing and took office in the DPRK and North Korea. He witnessed the eight-nation coalition’s invasion of China and the rise of the Boxer Rebellion in this modern Chinese history. The letter recorded in more detail some of the real conditions at that time and provided a first-hand source for studying this history and studying Ye Changchi.
