今年上半年,我们收到三姑父顾毓琇教授从美国寄来的信,信上告诉我们两件事:一是他荣获国际电机及电子工程学会庆祝2000年的千禧奖章和电路及系统学会金禧奖章。二是三姑母已于2月25日欢度百岁生日。我们为三姑父再次获奖而高兴,但更为欣慰的是,看到他年近百岁,偕他结发70年夫人与时代一起走入了新千年。 在我们青年时期,就知道三姑父顾毓琇是个大学问家,无奈他长期侨居海外,详情不明。从1973年开始,特别是我国实行改革开放以来,三姑父母多次回国探亲讲学;同时我们也有幸阅读到他的著作《行云流水》、《焦舍诗词》和最近出版的《百龄自述》,才知道他是当代杰出的科学家、教育家。当前我国实施科教兴国,如何培养新一代的科学家是当务之急。为此,就要学习顾老的终身钻研,文理渗透,博大精深,敢攀顶峰的精神。 顾毓琇是一位传奇式的全才。他13岁考进清华学校,1923年毕业后公费赴美留学,进入美国当时最好
