红光我来到雷公山麓的两河流域,在连绵不尽的原始森林中差点迷了路。尽管是大晴天,林中仍然浓雾弥漫,十步之外看不清小路。天气闷热,蝉都热得哭喊起来。我刚逃脱一条眼镜蛇的追逐,就遇到一个佝偻着腰、形容枯槁的老头儿。他的突然出现将我吓得不轻。听我说了刚才的遭遇,他告诉我这里毒蛇有七八种,还有豺豹、毒蝎子、大蜈蚣,怪物怪事多得很。老头儿嘱咐我:你可要当心哪!我央求他给我带路到最近的村寨,答应给他钱。老头儿略为迟疑,答应了。一路上,他时断时续,给我讲了这么一件怪事。
I came to the Red River valley at the foothills of the Thunder, almost lost in the endless primitive forest road.
