徐镇元同志是岳阳市人民政府副秘书长,1998年抗洪斗争中因劳累过度住进医院。在他康复以后,1999年4月组织上安排他到岳阳市档案局兼任局长。当时肩人说这是组织照顾他“带职休养”,而实际上这是一忖新的重担。4年多来,徐镇元以开拓进取的精神,带领全局干部职工,不怕苦不怕累,忘我工作,将岳阳市档案工作搞得有声有色。2001年,该市档案局被湖南省档案局评为档案工作目标管理先进单位,被岳阳市人民政府评为量化目标管理先进单位,被中共岳阳市委评为“先进基层党组织”和市级“文明单位”。
