Objective To observe the changes of iron in major organs at 7000m (1.5h daily) and at different time points. Methods Sixty Wistar rats were randomly divided into 10 days hypoxia group, 20 days hypoxia group and control group. The two hypoxia rats into the body low pressure cabin, rose to 7000m height, stay 1.5h, 1 times daily. The contents of iron in heart, brain, liver, spleen, lung and plasma were determined by WFX-Ⅱ atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Results Hypobaric hypoxia significantly reduced the content of iron in the plasma, brain, liver and spleen of rats, while the content of iron in heart and lung increased significantly. Conclusions Hypoxia and Hypoxia exposure can change the content of iron in the main organs of rats, suggesting that iron intake should be increased in the work of nutrition and health protection for short-term entry into the low-pressure anoxic environment.
