从3月份起,中央电视台主办了别开生面的第一届 CCTV 杯乒乓球擂台赛。据国家体委副主任徐寅生讲,这是为配合全民健身计划的全面实施而开展的一次活动。看过电视的现场直播,又读过报刊上为此次活动而发的不少消息,欣喜之余感慨颇多。乒乓球,曾为祖国赢得过许多荣誉,甚至在“小球推动大球”中也有它辉煌的一笔。在过去的几十年中,容国团、庄则栋、林惠卿、张燮林、梁戈亮、郭跃华、江加良、曹燕华等乒坛健儿家喻户晓,是无数青少年崇拜的偶像、学习的榜样。打乒乓球也因此成为大众体育活动的第一选择。它对场地、器材的要求不高,所以,在当年从城市到乡村,从部队到机关,到工厂,都可见到小小银球的身影,都可见到热爱并积极投身乒乓球运动的人们。在那个人们的生活还远谈不上富裕,多数人温饱都成问题的年代,人们对乒乓球之投入的程度远非今日可比。那时的学校,即使没正
