In this paper, the mass spectra of Co_3 (CO) _9CR (R = H, Cl, CH_3 and C_6H_5) from four methordals are reported. According to their structure and the results of metastable ions in the first field- Discuss their main fracture characteristics. These derivatives give clear molecular ions under EI conditions. A series of fragment ions [Co_3 (CO) _ (9-n) CR] ~ + (n = 0-9) were formed after continuous loss of CO. The secondary fracture reaction of [Co_3CR] Followed by the loss of a Co atom to form the corresponding fragment ions. Most of these product ions appear as metal-containing carbide ions. The second-order breakage of benzylic-based metal fragment ions is characterized by the continuous loss of C 2 H 2.
