In order to observe the outside world from inside the tank, a rectangular hole is made in the tank wall. Assuming that the wall thickness of the tank is 20 cm, a glass with a refractive index of n = 1.52 is mounted in the hole, and the thickness is the same as the wall thickness of the tank (Figure A). The upper corners of the outer world of teaching outside the tank can be seen through this glass.
