15吨履带吊车的优点很多,如在吊装作业中稳定性好,可以吊着重物行走;因为履带对地面单位压强较小,对作业场地的坚实度要求不高等等。但它和轮胎吊比较,最大缺点是行走速度慢,履带对水泥路面和柏油路面又有破坏性,因此通过上述路面或者远距离迁移时,要采用汽车拖车或者火车平板车运输,而在履带吊车开上或者开下拖车与平板车,以及运输过程中都会发生翻车事故。
