由地矿部广州海洋地质调查局和中国地质科学院极地研究中心组成的地矿部百余人南极和南大洋考察队,业经中国国家南极考察委员会同意已于10月25日从广州启航,开展南极和南大洋地质科学考察。 考察队由广州海洋地质调查局副局长、高级工程师王光宇任总指挥。《海洋四号》调查船将对南极半岛北部与南设得兰群岛及其附近海域的地形地貌、海洋沉积、地球物理场、盆地构造及地壳结构等进行地质矿产调查。除在海上调查外,还将以南极中国长城站及外国站为基地,选择4处岛屿作为登陆科学考察点,开展南极洲陆地地质,地球物理综合性考察,此次考察为期5个月,航程达2.7万海里。 中国地质科学院极地研究中心主任、地矿部南京地质矿产研究所女地质学家金庆民
More than 100 Antarctic and Southern Ocean Expeditions, composed of the Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey of the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources and the Polar Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, started their journey from Guangzhou on 25 October with the agreement of China National Antarctic Research Committee Antarctic and Southern Ocean Geological Expeditions. Expedition by the Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey deputy director, senior engineer Wang Guangyu as commander in chief. The “Ocean IV” survey ship will conduct geological and mineral surveys on the topography, ocean sediments, geophysical fields, basin structures and crustal structures in the northern part of the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands and its adjacent sea areas. In addition to surveys at sea, the Antarctic China Great Wall Station and the Foreign Station will be selected as base. Four islands will be selected as scientific landing sites for the study of the geology and geophysics of Antarctica. The study will last for 5 months and the voyage will reach up to 2.7 million nautical miles.
