本文以城市为中心的经济区划的理论方法为指导，结合珠三角经济区的实际（地理资源结构、城镇体系结构、经济空间结构和交通运输系统结构等方面），将以广州市为最大经济中心的珠江三角洲经济区划分为３个一级区，即以广州市为中心的中西部、以深圳市为中心的东南部、以珠海市为中心的西南部．每个一级区下面又分为３个亚区。每个亚区都是相当于原来地级市范围，其所属市县即为基层经济区。
This paper is guided by the theory of urban-centered economic zoning and combines the practicalities of the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone (geographical resource structure, urban system structure, economic spatial structure, and transportation system structure, etc.) and will use Guangzhou City as the largest economic center. The economic zone of the Pearl River Delta is divided into three first-level zones, namely, the Midwest with Guangzhou as the center, the southeast with Shenzhen as the center, and the southwest with Zhuhai as the center. Below each level zone is divided into 3 sub-zones. Each sub-region is equal to the scope of the original prefecture-level city, and its subordinate city and county is the grass-roots economic zone.
