Most infectious diseases have been successfully vaccinated with intradermal vaccination. This approach is very economical and is only 1/10 of the dose required for subcutaneous, intramuscular injection. At present, a routine immunization program for hepatitis B vaccine will cost from 50 to 100 yuan, and many third world countries are in great need of this immunity. Successful trials of intrahepatic injections of hepatitis B vaccine have been reported, but antibody levels are not as high as those of intramuscular injection, and the use of hepatitis B vaccine in children for intradermal injection has not been reported.
